Road Ride in Northern Italy w EDGE

Edge Travel is a flesgling idea; I might need help testing

October 25th to 31st 2009 Edge Travel will be riding road bikes in Northern Italy / Southern Switzerland on our inagural-test-FAll Italian Alps trip. For a small fee; Edge Travel will provide vehicles, leadership, local knowledge, itineray (ever changable by us) and guidance in how to ride europe like a non-tourist to have the greatest bike travel experience you have ever had.

Recomended fly in - Zurich Switzerland or Milan Italy

Meeting at a host hotel in the Ticino region of southern Switzerland and /or Northern Italy (Como region) on Sunday eve October 25th. Exact town / hotel to be announced and based on snow conditions and the best ride opportunities for that day...

Rides will be loosly planned and then open to what we as a group want to do as well as many personal options that allow you to gauge this trip for your desires and your personal fulfillment. All days will include all the info you need to ride short, long, big or crazy steep... a key factor in Troy's approach is that there is far more to this experience than training or logging the "big mniles"; I want to show you great roads, great life, awesome culture and the best food and wine you can imagine. Edge travel is about good living and we all know; that always includes great riding. I do not do "tours"; no flat tire changing services, no hand holding and no "you must be here by 8:00 AM" I travel to europe to ride because its good for my soul; I want to share that with a few of the right people who not only want to go, but want to learn Troy's version of adventure comando travel.

Rides that will blow your mind...  be it on the high cols if weather allows; passo San gottardo - Furka - Susten... ride the colle san pietro used in thisd years Giro... ride the hills around bergamo It... ride the passo san marco... ride a train to Bormio (weather permitting) for the grand day on the Passo d'Stelvio (the highest in the Italian Alps) and a return via the last few days that we decide on together. Maybe stay and ride the Gvaia and Morterollo or maybe the Spluga above Chiavenna and then back over the San Bernardo or maybe a leisure day along lago Como with a  dozen coffee - wine and bruscetta stops? With Troy's Edge; you have local knowledge of most every town and road (Ok, not ALL) and a passionate desire and ability to discover the towns and roads we do NOT know with style.

There will be  base fee to join - we will go dutch on expenses from there (hotels and meals are on you - we can stay at crazy fancy or base level penssiones, or anywhere in the middle and we can even mix it up in the same towns) Base fee ciovers rental car and certain other surprises and perks along the way as well as your guide and the pre-planning and support. (fee will be approximatly $500 USD)

We will meet at dinner time day one at our host rendesvous point - (I can help you with all "how to" get to places from where ever you are. I can help with air tyravel suggestions and details about catching a train, bring a bike and all the scoops. Even where to drink coffee , eat lucnch while you wait for a train or for me or a few cool places to stay before or after our dates. I'm your ultra personal travel agent; you want to do it? We will be back at our starting point by dinner the last day and will have reservations at that hotel most likely
